Lewis Pintard Bayard was born in Pennsylvania on July 23, 1791. He was first ordained a deacon on August 2, 1812, and later ordained a priest in Trinity Church in July 1815. His was the first ordination ceremony to be held at Trinity Church since its inception. Bayard served as rector of Trinity Church from 1813 to 1820. He subsequently served as rector of Episcopal churches in New Rochelle and Geneseo, New York and as principal of the high school at Geneseo. He died September 21, 1840 at the Is...
